Employment Placement Program for Participants
The Employment Placement Program helps people receiving Ontario Works assistance find employment and get back into the workforce faster! The Employment Placement Program connects local employers with skilled people to help them hire the staff they need.
How Does the Employment Placement Program Work?
Employment Placement Specialists work with local employers who are hiring. The Placement Specialists pre-screen people receiving Ontario Works Assistance who may have the qualifications the employer is seeking. Employers then decide whom they wish to interview and hire.
Employment Placement positions are full time, long term jobs and participants are hired by the employer just like other staff who are not part of the program.
Employment Placement Specialists work with the employer to create a training plan and provide funding to assist with the costs of training. The program also covers the WSIB or Insurance for up to 6 months.
What Types of Jobs are Available?
Placements are typically available in entry-level positions such as customer service, manufacturing, labour, and contact centres. Higher skilled positions may also be available in trades, health care, social services and office administration.
Employment and Social Services (Ontario Works) in Chatham-Kent has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with hundreds of local employers.
Ontario Works program participants have proven to be well-trained hard working individuals eager to find and keep employment.
To be considered for available employment placement positions you need to have an up to date resume, be able and available to work full time (35+ hours) and have the skills or experience related to the jobs that are available.
