Chatham-Kent has various community agencies that offer a wide range of supports & services to individuals living in our community.

Salvation Army offers several different services such as food, clothing and furniture assistance to those in need.  They also have specialized support programs which target a specific need in the community. 

Housing Supports
Support and assistance available to those in need of adequate, affordable, permanent housing in Chatham-Kent.  Some of the supports offered include: 

  • homelessness & emergency housing
  • utility crisis fund
  • affordable housing lists
  • landlord mediation


Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre

Chatham-Kent Women's Centre logoCK Women's Centre provides services to women and children facing violence or abuse. 

Some of the services they offer include:

  • 24 Hour Crisis Support
  • Emergency Shelter & Transitional Housing
  • Crisis & Outreach Supportive Counselling
  • Child Witness Program

Chatham-Kent Mental Health Association Lambton Kent

Canadian Mental Health Association logoCKMHA provides services and support to anyone who is experiencing symptoms or has been diagnosed with a mental illness.
Support and education is also available for family members of individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

Services include but are not limited to:

  • Telephone crisis intervention
  • Stabilization of the crisis situation
  • Mobile service
  • Suicide prevention
  • Crisis follow-up
  • Referrals

Victim Services works in cooperation with the Police, Emergency Service Personnel and Community Partners to assist victims of crime and/or tragic circumstances. 

 

Refuge

Refuge offers a wealth of information and support to women in all different types of situations.

Loads of Love works with a network of other community agencies to provide clothing and household items to those in need.

They also have a thrift store location which sells gently used furniture, clothing and household items to the general public. 
 

 

United Way of Chatham-Kent 

United Way - This Changes Everything!

United Way of Chatham-Kent is a local, independent, not-for-profit organization.  They support a network of agencies that provide vital program to people in our community including: single parents, abused women, families, young children & teenagers, the elderly, those are homeless or may be physically challenged.

They offer programs such as:

  • Operation Cover up
  • Backpacks for Kids
  • Prosperity Roundtable
  • Meeting basic needs, such as Food banks, Shelter, and Jobs.

211 is a three-digit phone number and website that provides information and referral to community and social services in Ontario.

Representatives are caring, understanding and knowledgeable, and pride themselves on their ability to connect you with the services you need.
