A delegation of Chatham-Kent businesses and staff are in attendance at the SIAL trade show in Toronto. SIAL is the preferred gateway to the US and international markets for the Canadian agri-food industry. More than 15,000 professionals are in attendance, along with more than 850 national and international exhibitors from 50 countries.

Since SIAL Canada is the only national show to offer a complete range of products dedicated to food under one roof, many of our Chatham-Kent producers attend the show with Economic Development Services. This year five companies have joined us as CK Brand Ambassadors by sharing our booth space, but we have well over 20 local products on display.
Adrian from Sunshine Pickles and Kim from Economic Development Services are showcasing locally grown and processed food products as varied as pickled asparagus to local honey, and everything in between.
This is the second year that Economic Development staff have organized a shared trade show booth at SIAL. When we recognize common trade show interests we find that this supports our local companies and allows them to attend events that would normally be outside their budgets.

Any company that produces products or services in Chatham-Kent can apply for assistance with attending trade shows through the CK Market Expansion Fund. The rules and an online application can be found at www.ckfundme.ca. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
