Chatham-Kent is fortunate to have numerous community organizations dedicated to the development and maintenance of our social fabric.
Helping those in Need
These groups devote their time and energy to bettering our community and helping those in need. While they seem to have a never-ending supply of enthusiasm, ideas and volunteer labour, what they often lack is the funding needed to put their ideas into action. That is where the Municipality steps in.
By providing funding information and assistance to community groups we help them to invest in our community. The types of funding information and assistance we provide include:
- Grant Connect Database – Is an on-line resource accessible from any municipal library branch. This Internet-based tool empowers citizens to find the funding they need for community projects.
- Core Grants – This is a four-year, competitive grant program given by the Municipality to certain community organizations to ensure that they have a secure, stable source of funding to assist them in delivering their services to the community.
- Community Partnership Fund – This is an annual, competitive grant program intended to assist community groups to complete projects or hold events which enrich the community.
